Cigala
is that uncomplicated but increasingly rare enterprise: a neighbourhood
restaurant with a talented chef/patron who has a coherent culinary stance,
friendly staff, a beguiling and fairly priced drinks list and a general
attitude of wanting to please. Jake Hodges, owner and chef, was one
of the founders of Moro in Clerkenwell. His own gaff in Lamb's Conduit
Street, which opened last week, perpetuates a commitment to Spanish
food and wines.
